We help families faced with health challenges or those trying to honor their loved ones' wishes to remain independent, and have a quality life. We offer a variety of home care services; your plan of care will be customized and tailored to your needs. Services range from skilled care, delivered by our health care professionals under the direction of your physician—for you to live safely and independently, in your own home.
Recuperating from an illness or injury used to mean long stays in hospitals, nursing homes, or rehabilitation centers but with SIMAC Home Care Services, you have another option. Our Home Care Services assist you in returning home to live independently while still receiving the high quality healthcare you need. You may need help temporarily or you may require assistance over a longer-term. We can work out a solution that is best for you.
Your loved ones will appreciate knowing that you are safe, well cared for, and able to enjoy familiar surroundings. Even more importantly, you will be able to maintain your dignity and sense of freedom.
Home Helper / Personal Care Aides / Homemakers / Companions
Their services include housekeeping, meal preparation, and companionship. Our non-certified aides work on one on one cases, and their services are privately paid for and not reimbursable under Medicare and private health insurance. Some long-term care insurance plans may cover these services but need to check with insurance carrier first. Our Non-certified aides provide general routine personal care services often needed to help care for a loved one at home.
Homemakers usually perform light household duties, meal preparation, laundry, and other similar tasks. Chore workers sometimes do heavier types of cleaning such as washing windows. Companions provide comfort and companionship to those people who cannot be left alone and unsupervised.
Certified Nurse's Aides (CNA) / Home Health Aides (HHA)
Certified Nurse's Aides and Home Health Aides work under the direct supervision of a health care professional nurse. CNAs and HHAs have successfully completed a training course, passed both a written and practical exam, and placed on the Minnesota state registry.
CNAs and HHAs both assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including personal care, ambulation, nutritional, medications, toileting, health monitoring (i.e. blood sugar levels), and sometimes light housekeeping. Our nursing assistants are skilled in actual procedures and make competent observations of a patient's condition for reporting to professionals.
CNAs and HHAs can provide other services based on level of training their include wound / bedsore treatments and dressing changes, tube feedings, catheter care, ostomy changes, and diabetic monitoring under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
They hold a nursing license, are qualified to perform certain skilled nursing procedures, and work under the supervision of our Registered Nurses (RNs).
Registered Nurses (RN)
Registered Nurses (RNs) perform all aspects of skilled nursing care in addition to supervising our team of caregivers including LPNs, CNAs, HHAs, PCAs and Homemakers.
